So, we got back from Ecuador about a month ago and Im not gonna lie, we really haven’t done that much preparation for the move yet. The first thing we did when we got back was pray and give ourselves time to decompress. We had our passover seder and told my parents about the move. We celebrated Easter and then we systematically spent about two weeks filling in the family with all the details.. We told them all about our two week trip (and showed them an eight minute slide show I made of course lol).
I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders now that its out in the open and we can make our plans openly. It also feels good to know that we’re going where Gods calling us to be. Im nervous so Ive started making some lists of what we’ll take so that I know what we’ll have to get rid of. So far my general list is as follows:
-Laptops (mommy and daddy)
-Family Headphones (we have three pairs between us)
-Clothes (larger sizes for the kids to grow into)
-Books (the ones that are important to us)
-Extra shoes for everyone
I know it may seem naive, but so far this is all we plan to take. We plan to rent a furnished apartment unit we find our own place, and we figure everything else we need we can buy there. We want to be open and be ready to be led to where ever God wants us so we’re moving light. We’re moving with a 4 year old and a 2 year old. If anyone has done a move like this to South America and has any advice, id be more than happy to hear it.
